Coinbase Celebrates 6th Birthday Following Biggest Year Yet
As Coinbase celebrates its 6th birthday, many have stopped to pay their homage to one of the largest and most influential crypto exchanges in the world. Coinbase COO Asiff Hirji wrote
Today is Coinbase’s sixth anniversary, we’re celebrating six incredible years working toward our mission to help create a more open financial system for the world! […] We are in the early days of our mission and there is still so much to do […] Have to know when to follow the rules, when to bend them and when to push to change them. Breaking them is neither ethical nor sustainable.
Coinbase is undoubtedly one of the most important exchanges in the world as it has been a main contributor in establishing cryptocurrencies as a legitimate financial opportunity. The site has been known for its user friendly nature and limited options which is perfect for those looking to invest for the first time. Their low fees and easy layout have been able to attract millions of users and continue their growth.
Coinbase has big plans for future growth as they continue to bring in top talent. From engineers to businessmen, the Coinbase team is loaded with employees who boasted top positions in Facebook, TD Ameritrade among several others. The company has been able to grow every year with this being their largest and they are looking to continue making bolder moves.
Even with their loaded team and well regarded platform, Coinbase has plenty of room to improve from their 2017 performance as they faced a number of issues. From users not being able to pull their money out to liquidation issues, the exchange has multiple areas users have called for change in. Even with the changes that would need to be added, Coinbase has proved to be a trailblazer and a leader within the crypto movement for years and will hopefully continue the push.
